Why alkaline water?

Most Indian homes drink RO water. It is clean — but RO also strips out the calcium and magnesium your body expects in water, and leaves it slightly acidic and flat-tasting. A Wellwa ionizer takes clean water one step further: it keeps the minerals, raises the pH into the alkaline range, gives the water a negative ORP (antioxidant potential) and enriches it with dissolved hydrogen. pH 8.5 – 9.5 — daily drinking

Start at 8.5 and step up as your family gets used to it. 9.5 is also the sweet spot for tea, coffee and cooking dal and rice.

pH 11.0 — produce cleaning

Antioxidant potential and hydrogen — what the numbers mean

ORP (oxidation-reduction potential) is measured in millivolts. Tap and bottled water usually read positive (+200 to +400 mV). Wellwa water reads negative — down to −750 mV on Aura and −850 mV on Aura Maxx. That is what 'antioxidant potential' means: the water tends to donate electrons rather than take them. Dissolved hydrogen (up to 1,500–1,800 ppb depending on model) is the other measurable property. Research into what these properties mean for the body is ongoing — we report the numbers, and we measure them in your own kitchen.

Good questions to ask

Is alkaline water safe for everyone?

For most healthy adults and children, yes — start at pH 8.5 and increase gradually. If you have a kidney condition, are on regular medication or are pregnant, ask your doctor first, and use the pH 7.0 natural-water mode for medicines and infant formula.

How much should we drink?

The same as you drink now — the aim is to enjoy water more, not to force it. Most families settle at pH 9.0 – 9.5 for daily drinking.

Will it change the taste of tea and food?

Many families find tea, coffee, dal and rice taste smoother and cook slightly faster with pH 9.5 water. Try it at the demo.

Is this the same as alkaline drops or bottled alkaline water?

Drops raise pH but add no hydrogen or negative ORP; bottled alkaline water loses its ORP within days. An ionizer makes fresh water on demand.

Can I test it at home before buying?
